Abstract

Once the Door is Closed was an 18 month ethnographic study of four teachers who implemented a self-contained, multi grade shattered English academic program for Cambodian and Vietnamese refugees in grades k-9. The dissertation documents in detail, the school district and school contexts, and the program as four teachers implemented it.
