Abstract
What role do Jesuits play in the modern world?
Jesuit John O'Malley discusses the Jesuit’s spiritual mission in the modern world. He describes this mission as feeding those who "hunger for the transcendent" essentially through education. The Jesuits have always made a scholarly effort to show the impact of this “transcendence” in art, mathematics, literature and science.
