Abstract
What contribution have Jesuits made to the Church in America?
Jesuit John O'Malley discusses the contributions that Jesuits have made to American Catholic life. He presents two ideas in depth: higher education and religious journals. Both, he believes, create an "intellectual community" fueled by the Jesuits, who have investigated many different ways of thinking in a large variety of intellectual disciplines.
