Abstract
How does an historian deal with the “Problem of Evil”?
Historian John O’Malley, S.J. observes that historians deal with evil as part of the human condition. The record indicates just how flawed human nature is although there are outstanding examples of unselfish altruism in the midst of war and chaos sometimes motivated by religious ideologies.
