Abstract
What motivates you to study religious history?
Dr. Martin Marty discusses his passion for studying religion and history because of its reflection on the human struggle with death, birth, suffering, and friendship. These concepts have always fascinated humankind, and although their study and analysis may be non-practical, they are beautiful and important.
