Abstract
How do you deal with “The Problem of Evil”?
Dr. Martin Marty discusses the simple answer for the existence of evil in the world: that we simply do not know. He points out that the prophetical religions have responded to this question with this specific answer. He then offers three characteristics of human life that expand the answer of “we do not know” to what we can be sure will govern all things: finitude, contingency, and transience.
