Abstract
How do you define religion?
Dr. Martha Reineke discusses how she challenges her students to define religion, and how they develop definitions that all draw upon different but pivotal elements of religion. Reineke continues on to discuss her own interests in the definition of religion, emphasizing the qualities of discipline and community. Dr. Reineke comments on gendered aspects of religion, and her belief that the gendering of religion creates a need for different definitions.
