Abstract

How can a God exist when there is so much evil in the world?

Dr. Jonathan Z. Smith discusses the question how God exists with evil in the world. He says that the idea of evil and sin is unique to Christianity and explains that a lot of terms such as the term evil have become general terms in religion. He adds that among many religions of the world, people do not feel the need to improve the world, rather just keep the world going.
