Dr. Denise Carmody at the time of the interview was Chair of the Religion Department at Tulsa University. She grew up in Baltimore, MD, and attended catholic schools all of her life. Dr. Carmody received her degrees from Boston College and says that what has most influenced her in life is her desire to become a teacher. Her teaching experience confirms her contention that students learn best when they are engaged with the subject.
