Abstract

Why should people study religion?

Rev. Dr. Charles Curran discusses the need for Americans to be better educated regarding religion and religious values. From a religious studies standpoint, he explains religion as having such an impact on culture that it is not possible to understand the world without understanding the role religion plays. He also stresses the need for a more comprehensive education in Theology for the faithful, as many have very low level understandings of their religion.
