Abstract

What was the major influence in the development of your theological thought?

Rev. Dr. Charles Curran discusses the influence of Moral Theologian Bernard Herring on his work. While studying for his Ph.D., Curran came into contact with Herring’s The Law of Christ , his major work that looks to bring an holistic approach to Moral Theology. Inspired by this, Curran took classes taught by Herring, and earned dual Ph.D.s from the Alphonsianum in Rome and the Gregorian University. Curran also has been greatly influenced by Josef Fuchs. Both of these theologians led Curran to understand the moral issues that concern us today.
