Abstract
Is it possible for a Catholic to disagree with Church Authorities?
Dr. Charles Curran discusses his experience with authority in the Catholic Church, and the decision to label him as unsuitable to teach Catholic theology. Curran further discusses the role of dissent in the Church and to what extent dissent can be tolerated. This leads to his explanation that authority must reconcile itself with truth and good conscience even if this means changing past teachings.
