About
Richard Greenwald is Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and a Professor of History at Fairfield University. He previously held leadership positions at the City University of New York, St. Joseph’s College and Drew University. His books include The Triangle Fire, the Protocols of Peace and Industrial Democracy in Progressive Era New York; Sweatshop USA: The American Sweatshop in Historical and Global Perspective and Labor Rising: The Past and Present of Working People in America. He is currently working on two books: a higher education book entitled Class Dismissed and a co-authored book on connections between workers and social democracy entitled Woven Together for Justice (both under contract with The New Press). He is a member of the editorial board for the The Journal of Planning History and was formally the editor of the book series “Work in the Americas,” published by University Press of Florida and member of the editorial board of the journal Labor History and Working USA. His writing has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune, The New York Daily News, BusinessWeek, Chronicle of Higher Education among others. He is a columnist for The DailyBeast and the Baffler.
