About
Eric Mielants is Associate Professor of Sociology in the College of Arts and Sciences at Fairfield University and Research Associate of the Maison des Sciences de l'Homme in Paris. He is a graduate from the University of Ghent, Belgium as well as the State University of New York at Binghamton where he specialized in social theory, political sociology and historical comparative sociology. Before coming to Fairfield, Dr. Mielants also taught graduate and undergraduate sociology courses at the University of Utah, Western Kentucky University, SUNY-Morrisville, SUNY-Cortland and SUNY-Binghamton. He has written articles and essays on racism, capitalism, social theory, political economy and contemporary migration issues which have also been published in Dutch, French, Spanish, Korean, Turkish and Japanese.
